About

This is a blog, as the title says, about my varied model railroading interests.

I model in HO scale and try to take a fairly faithful to prototype approach to the hobby. My primary focus for now is CP Rail switching operations in Toronto in the late 1970's, although I also have an interest in Maine railroads of all eras (hence the blog title, Modeling Maine Railroads) and a slight interest in the Quebec Central Railway. I am also a fan of subways and streetcar systems, though I make no attempt to model them.

My current project is a small, portable layout based on CP Rail's North Toronto team tracks in the late 1970's. To read about my thought process leading to this layout, as well as to see a track plan for the layout, click on the Thoughts category of my blog.
